Plymouth and South Devon Freeport
Langage South, Beaumont Way is a BREEAM Excellent, Net Zero Carbon-ready industrial development supporting the ambitions of Plymouth and South Devon Freeport. With support from the Freeport Seed Capital Programme the project delivers high-quality, flexible space for the key target sectors, the scheme strengthens regional supply chains and creates skilled employment opportunities.
The scheme combines sustainable design, future-proofed infrastructure and strong social value delivery, positioning Plymouth as a leading hub for low-carbon industry and economic growth in the South West.
The Tamar Valley Crematorium is nestled within a tranquil woodland setting in Devon, its low, considered form following the natural contours of the countryside. Crafted from enduring Yennadon stone and warm English larch, it blends seamlessly with its surroundings, offering quiet strength and reassurance. Designed as a place to pause, reflect and remember, it provides a dignified, peaceful setting where architecture and landscape come together to honour life and gently hold space for remembrance.
The West Cornwall Hospital Outpatient Department opened to patients in June 2025 and provides a modern, accessible environment to deliver outstanding outpatient care for over 40,000 patients each year, supporting 71 consultants across West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The project, from start to finish, was defined by a deep commitment to understanding and supporting the community it serves. West Cornwall Hospital sits at the heart of Penzance, the project team recognised from that socially responsible construction and meaningful engagement were essential to delivering a facility that provides high quality health and care services for the local community, local to home.
Dartmoor Building sets a new standard for healthcare architecture, proving design excellence can be delivered under the most demanding constraints. Completed within an 18-month programme on a live hospital site, a cohesive design language connects every element. From a dynamic façade referencing Plymouth's maritime heritage to internal lighting, graphics and biophilic interiors everything combines to create a seamless transition between outside and in. The UTC now sees upwards of 100 patients daily, where patients and staff feel genuinely valued.
Kier Construction, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, Building Design Partnership (BDP)
The Surgical Centre project is the culmination of many years of careful strategic planning and delivery of 14 enabling projects across the estate to pave the way for this cornerstone building. Construction was undertaken in one of the most complex live hospital environments in the UK and was delivered to replace former hospital theatres and the critical care unit, which were built during the Second World War as part of a temporary casualty evacuation hospital for the D-Day landings.
The completed centre provides operating theatres, endoscopy rooms, critical care beds, sterile services and clinical support within a state-of-the-art facility, delivering a healing and reassuring environment for patients while strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving care for the people of Somerset.
Kier Construction, Grainge Architects
The Brook is an award winning specialist inpatient facility, providing dignified, recovery focused care for adults with a learning disability and/or autism whose needs cannot be met in mainstream services. Designed around patient wellbeing, it offers domestic style flatlets, therapeutic gardens and gentle sensory transitions that help individuals feel safe, confident and in control. Co produced and evidence based, and winner of the Healthcare Design Awards, it sets a patient centred, flexible and replicable benchmark for future projects.
Welcome Building® is a landmark 207,000 sq ft, nine-storey commercial building in Bristol’s Temple Quay.
Supporting Bristol’s objective to become net zero by 2030 and the UK’s 2050 decarbonisation goals, this project has been designed as a people-centric, high-quality, flexible and future-proof space, setting a benchmark for sustainability, wellbeing, user experience and community, addressing the urgent need to decarbonise the built environment while providing higher quality, better functioning commercial space for Bristol and the UK.

Urban Splash and Poppy Developments
Royal William Yard’s Factory Cooperage is a development of 24 premium townhouses within a Grade I listed historic naval building, blending heritage with contemporary living.
Original stonework, steel trusses, mezzanine levels and restored loading bays celebrate the building’s original character while maximising light and space achieved through a fabric-first, sustainable approach prioritising reuse, biodiversity and community access.
Overcoming conservation constraints, the project now anchors a vibrant, inclusive waterfront community supporting homes, culture, jobs and wellbeing.
Gap House regenerates a derelict garage site into nine two storey, one bedroom low carbon homes, built using modern offsite construction. The homes are designed specifically for single-occupancy social rent. Biodiversity improvements include wildflower planting and new tree installations, contributing to a 17.8% Biodiversity Net Gain.
Overcoming complex access, ground condition and logistical challenges, it demonstrates how small brownfield plots can be transformed into thriving residential communities. The project sets a replicable model for urban regeneration across Bristol.
The Spitfire Hangar retrofit reclaims a long-unoccupied 1917 Grade II listed aircraft hangar transforming the hangar into a vibrant community hub at the heart of Brabazon, delivering flexible, inclusive spaces for events, exercise, work, socialising and play.
Harnessing the building’s iconic form, the project establishes essential social infrastructure, integrates internal and external spaces with adjacent parkland, and delivers a landmark facility rooted in local heritage while supporting a growing community.
The Hub at Foulston Park is the regeneration of an ageing, underperforming leisure centre in Devonport into a vibrant, multi-faculty wellbeing hub. With facilities spanning sport, soft play, education, employment and health services, it’s tackling deep-rooted inequalities within South Devon to prompt social regeneration. The Hub at Foulston Park now delivers over 16,000 hours of community provisions and supports 800+ local gym members. It is a flagship for realistic, sustainable, inclusive, community-centred regeneration in the South West.
The Centre for Law & Social Sciences is a four-storey, 2,800sqm landmark featuring 25 flexible classrooms, digital learning facilities and outstanding environmental performance. This modern, inspiring facility strengthens academic pathways and supports the next generation of legal and social science professionals.

Sky Primary and Eden Project Nursery in Cornwall is a pioneering net-zero carbon school combining innovative offsite construction with nature-inspired learning. Built on a former quarry, it features a roof garden, biodiversity net gain, and an FA Level 1 sports pitch.
As a Department for Education pathfinder, it sets new standards in sustainable education infrastructure. The project overcame complex site challenges to deliver high-quality, eco-friendly facilities, enriching the local community while fostering environmental stewardship and wellbeing for future generations.
The Poole Farm Paddock Cabin is a sustainably built, timber-framed facility set in 147 hectares of meadows, woodland, and orchards in Derriford Community Park. Built on stilts with a green roof and rainwater harvesting, it minimises ecological impact while hosting education, eco-therapy, and community events. The project overcame budget and programme challenges to deliver a nature-integrated space that reconnects people with the environment, promotes biodiversity, and supports Plymouth’s climate action goals, inspiring future generations to engage with sustainability and wellbeing.
The University of Plymouth’s new Dental School delivers a modern, purpose-built clinical teaching environment designed to enhance students' training whilst providing capacity for future expansion. Integrating state-of-the-art clinical treatment bays and collaborative learning spaces, the facility improves student experience through exposure to real world patient treatment which increases patient access to community dental care. Delivered with strong sustainability principles and local supply chain engagement, the project strengthens regional healthcare resilience and supports the next generation of dental professionals in Plymouth.
As part of Teignbridge District Council’s action on climate change, the refurbishment at Broadmeadow Sports Centre has achieved an 85% reduction in carbon emissions while providing enhanced facility which have transformed this public provision into a hub of wellbeing for Teignmouth.
The project replaced gas boilers with high-efficiency air source heat pumps, improved the building fabric, transitioned the centre to fully electric operation, and refurbished sports, gym and changing facilities, transforming the building into a modern, accessible and low-carbon community sports hub.
Rockfish + Salcombe Brewery transforms an ageing creekside building into a vibrant restaurant and taproom that feels truly rooted in its context, both aesthetically and operationally. The design maximises the stunning waterfront views through careful planning of the internal layout and features a dramatic covered terrace and exposed vaulted dining space. The high-quality finish, including robust external materials and thoughtful interior design, celebrates the local maritime character and creates an exceptional and memorable destination for drinking and dining.
Shoemakers Museum combines a sensitive refurbishment of Grade II Listed Grange manor house with a striking new build featuring exceptional brickwork & corbelling, a colonnade and reused Blue Lias from a demolished wall structure.
Sustainability was central EG cross laminated timber superstructure & upgrading the inefficient heating in The Grange. Overcoming ecological and funding constraints, the museum opened in time for Street’s 200th shoemaking anniversary.

Tinside Lido, a landmark of Plymouth Hoe since 1935, required a sensitive renewal after decades of exposure and underused spaces.
As part of Plymouth City Council’s vision for the UK’s first National Marine Park, the project blends heritage conservation, adaptive reuse, and marine resilient design to protect this iconic Grade II listed site and strengthen Plymouth’s connection with the water throughout the year. The refurbishment has transformed Tinside Lido from a summer-only destination into a year-round, multi-use community hub, increasing access, inclusive enjoyment of the waterfront.

Grade II listed Pip & Jims church in Ilfracombe was suffering from water penetration from ferocious sea storms. The West Wall Revive project repaired and replaced badly eroded limestone tracery and mullions and replaced the external glazing protecting the stained glass with a superior solution.
New lath and plaster, balustrades, ramps and a new servery, together with the structural work to the wall allows for the safe use of the church by community groups. The work has improved accessibility and transformed the historic west end into a safe, inclusive community café and social space while securing the future of this church.
Millstream assisted living apartments (Block D) completes St Monica Trust’s respectful regeneration of the Cadbury’s former Somerdale factory site into The Chocolate Quarter Retirement Village. The design pays respect to the original factory with its signature red brick façade, and the interior is specifically fitted out for residents who require an extra level of care. The project involved excavating the factory basement and providing 44 apartments, 18 dedicated to affordable housing. All apartments are energy saving with feature full-length balconies.
Monument View was first launched in 2020 as a strategic expansion to the southern edge of Wellington. Responding to local housing pressures and the district’s need for high-quality mixed-tenure homes, Monument View delivers 205 new homes within a landscape-led masterplan, including 51 affordable dwellings.
The development strengthens placemaking and wellbeing via a hedgerow-framed central green, strong pedestrian and cycling connections and a clear street hierarchy.
Brampton House is a flagship Hotels to Homes project transforming a derelict Victorian hotel into 14 affordable, energy efficient homes. The scheme blends heritage restoration with modern sustainability features including an EPC B rating, solar power sharing and biodiversity enhancements. Delivered in under nine months, it overcame significant structural and safety challenges while revitalising a long neglected site. The project reduces antisocial behaviour, supports local jobs and apprenticeships, and provides a replicable model for sustainable, community focused housing regeneration.
