Introducing the judging panel
Thank you to the esteemed members of the Michelmores Property Awards judging panel who give their time and expertise to ensure the judging of the projects submitted to our Awards is of the highest standard.
To ensure impartiality, the judging panel is specifically independent of Michelmores and each judge acts in a volunteer capacity.
The judging process
At the outset of the judging process, the judges are allocated a selection of projects from different categories which they will, in most circumstances, visit and discuss aspects of the design and build with the applicant and/or client showing them around.
Judging Day takes place in person. Judges meet and discuss the merits of each project against the category criteria. They each score the projects accordingly to reach a shortlist and an ultimate winner of the category.
Judges will be looking at the environmental, social and community aspects of each project closely as these are important criteria within the competition. It is important that applicants try and answer each question relating to their project to provide judges with as much information as possible.
In the case of a judge being connected professionally in some way to a submitted project, a conflict of interest is raised at the start of the judging process. That judge will then stand down from judging that particular category to retain impartiality during the discussion.
